Columbus Marine A/S has been sold to the German family-owned company Liros GmbH
through their Swedish subsidiary Liros Scandinavia AB.
Columbus Marine is a leading importer and distributor of equipment for pleasure boats. The
equipment is sold to Danish yacht equipment dealers, boat builders, sailmakers, and engine
workshops.
Columbus Marine represents a large number of the world’s best manufacturers in the sector.
Columbus Marine has 12 employees and achieved an EBITDA of DKK 3.5 million in 2022/23.
Liros GmbH, with 170 employees, is a leading manufacturer of ropes for use in the yachting,
flightsport, industrial, and forestry sectors. All production takes place in Germany.
The transaction was made via Liros’ subsidiary in Sweden, which also distributes other
products aimed at the yachting and industrial markets.
The seller of Columbus Marine has, in connection with the sale, become a co-owner of the
Swedish subsidiary.
Columbus Marine was sold in a process where Sesam Partners presented a larger number of
foreign and Danish industrial and financial buyers with the purchase option. Sesam Partners
handled the entire sales process including preparation of Information Memorandum, buyers
list, management presentations and due diligence as well as negotiations with the final buyer.
